Simone Biles: A Champion for Children

Friends of the Children has been honored to grow our partnership with World Champion gymnast and youth advocate Simone Biles. Over the years, Simone has passionately engaged with Friends of the Children and leveraged her platform time and time again to support and empower youth facing the greatest challenges including foster care, intergenerational poverty, and mental health.

Simone knows from her own experience in foster care that children often face a lot of hard things growing up. That’s why she has become a fierce advocate for Friends of the Children and the power of mentoring to create transformational change in the lives of youth and families across the country.

Whether she’s hosting online warm up sessions with youth or talking with them at her hometown gym in Houston, Simone’s bright light and her big heart always shine through. We continue to be moved by Simone’s genuine connection with the youth we serve as well as her ongoing words of encouragement that inspire them to overcome fear and doubt and to never stop dreaming big.
